On This Day In #BlackHERstory: Beyoncé Slayed

On this day 02/07 in #BlackHERstory, singer/entertainer Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter slayed (2016).

Just 48 hours after she and her husband donated $1.5 million to fund grassroots political and social movements including Black Lives Matter and the Trayvon Martin Foundation, and only 24 hours after releasing her most overtly Black Power messaged music video, #Formation, Beyoncé took the NFL’s Super Bowl 50 Halftime show by storm.

Flanked by an all-Black women dance troop dressed in Black Panther Party inspired outfits and dancing in X formation as a nod to Malcolm X, Beyoncé used the 100 million+ viewers platform of Super Bowl 50 to promote empowerment and power to the people. Her people. #BlackGirlMagic #SayHerName #BlackLivesMatter #BHMis4Every1 #dontBSyourself

  1. Yes, she did that! That’s for the info about the video, I didn’t know she was shouting out to those people, that was awesome. i am proud of Beyonce’ and her husband’s awareness and contributions to Black movements as well as reaching out out to those families in need.
