Lame skit but He has a point, boycotting the awards because they didn’t invite you is lame as hell….but I find it more funny that he can shed a tear over a lion but have nothing for an entire population of black and white people poisoned by the government.

It would be lame if the boycott was only about them not getting invited, but that’s not what it’s about. There’s a broader issue of systemic racism in Hollywood of which the Academy is just a microcosm.

The Academy members who vote for the Oscars are made up of a cross-section of Hollywood, including studio heads and producers.

I don’t get what not coming to an award show will accomplish….it’s like rappers not attending the grammys change the industry….how sway?

That’s like saying you don’t get how not riding the bus will change segregation. Just the talk of boycotting the Oscars has already yielded changes in the process, as well as prompting dialog about the broader issue of discrimination in the industry. It’s working.

The actual Academy VOTERS are also 95% White with a known penchant for nepotism.
